Four friends, shared roots, one vision

The Wine

Named after the Piedmontese word for Monleale village, Monlià [monli’a] oriiginates from the hills of Tortona. A tribute to our heritage, a bridge between tradition and future.

This Timorasso wine represents our vision: an refined white capable of telling a story of earth and passion.

A wine of character, expressing its unmistakable elegance with every sip.

Each bottle tells who we are: our origins, our values, our passion for wine.

Four friends united by a common vision. The idea matured over time, between glasses of fine wine and long conversations at the table. Our project was born this way, from sharing experiences and knowledge, where every exchange added a piece to the vision of what this wine could become.

We chose to focus on this region and this grape variety because we believe in its extraordinary potential. Ours is a story of friendship transformed into an entrepreneurial project, where boldness meets experience and the heart guides every decision.

Our Story

Our project stems from the desire to revive a long-neglected grape variety. We don’t purchase grapes: we cultivate our vineyards in the Tortona hills with care and dedication, firmly believing in a direct relationship with the land.

This is more than an entrepreneurial venture: it’s a declaration of love for our land, a bet on the future of Timorasso. A project that combines the experience of those who have shaped Italian wine history with the enthusiasm of those who want to write its future.

In every bottle of Monlià there is our vision: to create a great white wine capable of challenging time, expressing the purest essence of its territory.

The Terroir

The essence of our Timorasso is rooted in ancient history. Nine million years ago, the Tortona area lay beneath the sea. Today, this remarkable geological heritage imparts our wine with its extraordinary minerality.

The secret lies in the Sant’Agata Marl, a distinctive gray-bluish soil that links the Tortona Hills with the most prestigious areas in the Langhe region. Our vineyards share the same geological composition that made La Morra’s Barolo famous: a complex mosaic of clay, silt, sand, and minerals that gives Timorasso its unique character and identity.
